International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems
Since it was launched in the summer of 2017, the International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS) has attracted more than 2,000 applications from around the world. The multidisciplinary doctoral program currently counts some 220 Ph.D. students.
The IMPRS-IS includes the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS), the University of Tübingen, and the University of Stuttgart. With almost 100 faculty members across the three partner institutions, the Ph.D. program offers up-and-coming researchers from around the world a unique opportunity to complete their studies under the supervision of Europe’s leading scientists in the fields of machine learning, robotics, and computer vision.
The IMPRS-IS is the first doctoral program to combine world-class expertise in mechanical engineering, control theory, computer science, cognitive science, neuroscience, mathematics, and materials science in the field of intelligent systems. The school’s research and training shows great promise for applications in a broad range of fields, including robotics, autonomous vehicles, and medical devices.
